Recovery of regional myocardial function and myocardial oedema following reperfused acute myocardial infarction
نویسندگان
چکیده
We investigated the relationship between myocardial oedema and recovery of regional myocardial function in patients with acute reperfused myocardial infarction (MI). Early after acute MI, oedema in the peri-infarct zone, as delineated by T2 weighted (T2w) cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging, demonstrated significantly reduced strain as compared to remote myocardium. The recovery of regional function in the peri-infarct zone closely followed the resolution of hyperenhancement on T2w CMR. In addition, both transmural and subendocardial infarcts showed a degree of functional recovery after acute MI.

Acute oedema in the evaluation of microvascular reperfusion and myocardial salvage in reperfused myocardial infarction with cardiac magnetic resonance imaging.
UNLABELLED The accurate measurement of myocardial salvage is critical to the ongoing refinement of reperfusion strategies in acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) can define the area at risk in AMI by the presence of myocardial oedema, identified by high signal intensity on T(2)-weighted imaging with a short inversion time inversion-recovery (STIR) sequence...

متن کاملNo-Reflow Phenomenon in Patients with ST-Elevation Acute Myocardial Infarction, Treated with Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention: A Study of Predictive Factors
Introduction: No-reflow phenomenon in coronary vessels, manifested in some patients with reperfused acute myocardial infarction (MI), is associated with poor clinical and functional outcomes. Therefore, evaluation of predisposing risk factors can be helpful in risk assessment and identification of patients at higher risk. Herein, we aimed to study the predictive factors for the development of...
